Botnet with license key and price list
SecureWorks provides a brief overview of the current version of the ZeuS toll-kit. It show how the software – similar to Windows – generates a hardware-based fingerprint of the hardware configuration. Botnet user will get their individual license key for this configuration.
The latest version of ZeuS is privately sold. So the license key protects the software from piracy, what sounds a bit funny, but the pricing is heavy:

- Backconnect modul for remote access $1500
- Firefox form grabber $2000
- Jabber (IM) chat notifier $500
- VNC (Virtual Network Computing) private module $10,000
- Windows 7/Vista Support $2000
How makes such investments wants to make some money with it. This fits to the increasing loss linked to online fraud to a peak of $559.7 million. The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) released a report on that.
