You have a right to infect yourself

“The [Environmental Protection Agency] comes out with second hand smoke and suddenly smoking is banned everywhere. You have a right to infect and give yourself illness. You don’t have the right to infect your neighbor. Computers are the same way.” Microsoft Vice President of Trustworthy Computing Scott Charney said during a keynote at the RSA security conference in San Francisco (according to The Register).

His idea to create mandatory quarantines for computers with malware infections is not new at all. No one specified how this should work so far. There is no answer on questions as who would be responsible for monitoring and isolating infected machines. Also the logistics of such a plan remains unformed.
